Missing county agent

TO THE EDITOR

I am a showman for Lincoln County 4-H. I am not sure how many of you are aware that Lincoln County does not have a county agent. My fellow showmen and I recently showed our steers and heifers at the Georgia State Fair in Perry Georgia. Lincoln County was very well represented with all of the Lincoln County 4-H showers, placing high in their classes. We even had a reserve champion.

I could not help but notice that the other 4-H show teams had their county agents directing them. They had T-shirts, county signs, and the support of their agent. The county agents were also taking pictures of the showmen for their county, helping them groom their cattle, and giv- ing tips on certain showmanship procedures.

It made me wonder why we didn't have a county agent helping us. Our parents and other family members make it possible for us to show, but where is the support from our county?

I never thought I would want to show, but it is fun and it makes me proud when all my hard work pays off. I ask the people of Lincoln County to support the 4-H show team. We work hard and I think we need a county agent to help us in our efforts to represent Lincoln County. I am sure that I speak for my fellow 4-H team members in saying that we want and need a county agent.
