The Funny Farm in Tignall, Georgia has created a non-profit organization called P.A.L.S. dedicated to protecting a pet's welfare in case something happens to the owner.

P.A.L.S. stands for the Promise to Animals of Lost Loved Ones, Inc. People make provisions for their children in the event of the parents untimely death. Most of these people do not think about what will happen to their pets in the same situation.

In most cases if a family member or friend cannot care for the animal, authorities have no choice but to turn the pet over to the local shelter. Most of the shelters already have enough to handle with stray and unwanted animals.

Becoming a member of P.A.L.S. guarantees that in the event of a tragedy, the pet will be transported to the Funny Farm where it will be cared for by the staff and volunteers.

Membership is a one time fee of $40 for the first pet and $10 for each additional pet.

Additional information can be found on the website at www.gafunny farm.org or by calling 706-401-5874.
