The lightning postponement didn't stop the energy from the Red Devils, which carried over to the 2 p.m. kickoff on Saturday at Tiger Stadium in Washington. The afternoon start time contributed to the feeling of a college game between two big-time rivals. As many of the big rivalries have gone this year, this one was a blowout, with Lincoln County trouncing Washington- Wilkes by a score of 32-0.
The game began with Washington Wilkes kicking off to Lincoln County, who returned it to their 33-yard line. After a hard-fought drive, including a penalty by the Tigers and an impressive run by A. G. Middlebrooks, Vance Tarver punted to the Tigers. They made a long run to the Lincoln County 47, which was stopped by Alex Ellis. Jarren Brown pushed them back to their own 45-yard line.
A feeble punt was received by the Red Devils and they pushed it all the way down the field. Austin Goldman threw a long pass to Wilkes Goolsby, who made the catch for six points with less than a minute left in the first quarter. Vance Tarver kicked the extra point.

Washington-Wilkes made one first down before having to punt again. Lincoln County got the ball and marched down the field to the beat of Jamareon Green and Middlebrooks for another six points. Vance Tarver made the score 14-0.
The young and inexperienced Tigers failed to make a fistdown and Alex Ellis ran the punt return back for a 60-yard touchdown, which was called back to the Lincoln County 39-yard line due to clipping being called on Wilkes Goolsby. Three penalties plagued the drive, which ended in a punt situation at fourth and 20. Tarver laid on the ball after a low snap, giving Washington- Wilkes excellent field position at the 18-yard line. They pushed to the 1-yard line and fumbled the ball. Keestan Wynn recovered the ball for Lincoln County. The half ended with an interception, questionable time-keeping, and a run that netted the Tigers nothing.

The Tigers' next possession was slowed down by the Lincoln County defense. After two fumbles and an interception, they received a reprieve when the interception by Jatoyaus Jones was returned to the Tigers following a holding penalty. They lost three yards on the next play and gained a first down with a fake punt and run on the following play. After another flagwas thrown against Washington-Wilkes for motion on the line, Jones intercepted another pass, but was injured on the play.
The Devils started the next drive with a 4-yard gain. The quarter ended after Tarver punted the ball to the Tigers on the 39-yard line. After a pitiful drive, Washington-Wiles punted the ball.
