Sparring matches The Augusta Boxing Club will present its monthly sparring matches on Thurs., Sept. 27 at 5:30 p.m., located at the club's gym at 1929 Walton Way, Augusta. This event is free to the public. Participants will be members of the Augusta Boxing Club's beginner and intermediate classes. Although these matches are classified as "sparring," the atmosphere will be that of actual competition complete with referees, physicians and other aspects of competition. Congress. They have been given credit for averting a Civil War in 1850 with their passage of The Compromise of 1850. When the Confederate Government was finally formed in 1861 in Montgomery, AL, Stephen got the number two job as Vice President and Toombs got the number three job, Secretary of State. Toombs went on to become a Brig. General in Lee's Army of Northern Virginia. Membership in the Washington Civil War Round Table is open to everyone, and new members can join at the meeting. Annual dues are $25 for individuals, $35 for a family and $15 for students. |
