Willingham to present the 'Most Formidable Pair' Monday night

Skeet Willingham will present "Alexander Stephens and Robert Toombs, the Most Formidable Pair" at the Washington Civil War Round Table meeting on Monday evening, September 24 at 6:00 p.m. at The Jockey Club Restaurant on the Square in Washington.

Claibourne Darden, Round Table President, says that the public is invited and welcomed. The cost of the meeting is $10 per person and includes a very nice dinner. Alexander Stephens of Crawfordville and Robert Toombs of Washington became the closest of friends early in their adult lives. Both were elected to the U.S Congress in the mid 1800's. No two men could have been farther apart in almost all ways, but together they became one of the most powerful influences in the U.S
