Eileen Glidewell Kelley

Eileen Glidewell Kelley of Warner Robins, Ga., 79, entered into rest on Friday, August 24, 2007.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 27, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment followed in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Kelley was born on September 18, 1927, to the late Alec and Eva Glidewell of Lincolnton. A resident of Warner Robins since 1944, she moved here with her two sisters, Hope Glidewell and Henrietta Glidewell McIntyre to work in the secretarial pool on Robins Air Force Base. She was an avid homemaker and raised beautiful roses and daylilies. As her children got older, she returned to work for the Houston County Board of Education from which she retired in 1990. She devoted the next thirteen years to the love and care of her husband, Robert. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Warner Robins, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and G.A. director. She was a member of Laureate Eta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kelley; twin brother, John Alec Glidewell; brother, Lemual Glidewell; sister, Eleanor Lane Pinson; and grandson, Timothy Scott Bowen.

Survivors include four children, Brenda Kelley Bowen (John), of Statesboro, Ga., Robert Michael Kelley (Paula) of Chatsworth, Ga., Charles Richard Kelley (Wanda) of Warner Robins and Bonnie Kelley Morris (Richard), of Houston, Texas; sisters, Hope Glidewell of Lincolnton, Henrietta McIntyre of Warner Robins, and Rebecca Mahaffey of Warner Robins; a brother, Joseph Glidewell of Lincolnton; and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westrdige Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
