Leathersville News .. Mrs. Jason Bentley visited in the William Bentley home Monday morning. .. Mr. and Mrs. William Bentley visited Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Bowick in Troy Monday afternoon and were supper guests in the home. Franklin is better, but still needs our prayers. .. Caleb Clark came home for the weekend and visited Bob Holley. .. Marion Cliatt took his wife, Hilda, to the Blue Fish in Elberton for their 46th anniversary. .. Miss Alicia Bryant visited in the William Bentley home Friday afternoon. .. Miss Erica Newton was a lunch guest on Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fizer. Alan Fizer spent the weekend in the home. .. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reese visited Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fizer Saturday. .. Arthur Fizer had surgery on Tuesday, visitors have been Mr. and Mrs. Don Stephens, Sue Moore, Mr. Women's luncheon to be held Sept. 12 The Savannah River Christian Women's Connection Luncheon, in affiliation with Stonecroft Ministries, invites you to our next luncheon on Sept. 12. We will meet each other at Tara Country Club from 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m. and enjoy fellowship, a faith story, and fabulous food together. The cost is $12.00 per persons. Karen Gilmour from Okatie, S.C. will share about her decisions in life, both good and bad, and where they took her. We will hear that we need to choose carefully because each of our choices carries a consequence. Looking at the cost is vital for our well being. We will also feature a speaker from Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop of Augusta who will help us transition our backyards for the changing of the seasons. Our menu will be chicken and broccoli alfredo accompanied by a garden salad with Italian dressing and garlic bread. Our dessert will be chocolate sundaes. A chef's salad may be substituted at the time of reservations if desired. Mrs. Kerry Whitner and Ms. Mandy Dornberg have been visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Truitt Smalley. Mr. and Mrs. William Bentley have also been visitors in the home. .. Miss Alicia Bryant and Patrick Bryant visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Bryant, during the week. .. Mrs. Dudley Bryant visited Mrs. Nina Adams in Thomson on Wednesday and they visited Miss Elizabeth Gunn and Mrs. Eunita Gunn during the afternoon. .. Mrs. Dudley Bryant visited Mrs. Annie Ruth Fox and Mr. and Mrs. George Jones on Saturday. .. Mrs. Charles Dornberg and Harley Marie visited Mr. and Mrs. Truitt Smalley one day the past week. Boating class Thurmond Lake Sail & Power Squadron will offer the last squadron boating class (formally known as boat smart) for the year consisting of four consecutive Tues. and Fri. afternoon sessions from 1 - 4 p.m. on Sept. 11, 14, 18 and 21. Classes will be held at the McCormick Public Library located at 201 Railroad Ave. Cost is for materials only, $25 per person or $30 for a couple.
