School of theology to offer classes at Faith Tabernacle Those wishing to learn more about the Bible will have a golden opportunity to do so when the Christian Life School of Theology opens in January of 2008 in Lincolnton. Faith Tabernacle, under the leadership of Dr. Delcinia Jamison, has been certified as one of the sites for Beacon University's distance learning religious education program. Beacon University, located in Columbus, Georgia, is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Apostolic Council for Educational Accountability (ACEA). Through this new program, Christian leaders and workers will have the chance to learn and earn degrees in Biblical studies without the expense of having to drive long distances. Courses will be taught by visiting instructors and by video at the Faith Tabernacle campus, located at 249 Faith Lane in Lincolnton. Instruction will take place one weekend per month, from 7-10 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturdays. Courses will be offered in six different areas of study: Old Testament, New Testament, Biblical Theology, Practical Theology, Historical Theology, and Christian Counseling. There are currently six academic programs leading to degrees in Biblical Studies. These degrees are: a diploma in theology, an associate's degree in theology, a bachelor's degree in theology, a master's in theology, a master's in sacred studies, and a doctorate in theology. All degrees are earned by taking courses and accumulating semester hours. "The purpose of the Faith Tabernacle Christian Life School of Theology is to equip Christian men and women, who share a common desire to learn God's word and know His will," said Dr. Jamison. "We feel very blessed and are humbled to be able to offer Biblical training here in Lincolnton." For additional information and course registration, please contact Faith Tabernacle at 706-359-1638. |
