Confederate Antique Road Show to be held at Fitzpatrick

A "Confederate Antique Road Show" will be held Monday, August 27, at 6 p.m. at the Fitzpatrick Hotel on the Square in Washington during the meeting of the Washington Civil War Round Table.

The road show will be conducted by John Sexton, an appraiser and dealer in Civil War memorabilia for over a quarter of a century.

"Local residents are encouraged to bring their Civil War items to the meeting, and have Mr. Sexton examine them," said Claibourne Darden, Round Table president. "He will give you information about your treasures as well as tell you what they are worth in today's market. He will also instruct you on the proper way to take care of antiques.

"This will be a fascinating and informative program and a unique opportunity for those in our part of the country," he continued, adding, "Come and see what our forefathers used in defending their homeland."

The public is cordially invited to attend the Confederate Antique Road Show. The cost of the meeting is $10 per person, which includes dinner.

Reservations may be made by emailing Darden at claibourne@darden-atlanta.net or calling 1-404-210-5811.

Membership in the Washington Civil War Round Table is open to everyone. Annuals dues are $25 for individuals, $35 for families, and $15 for students.
