Fellowship service True Fellowship Church will have a Love and Fellowship Service Sat., Aug. 18 at 5 p.m. Rev. Dennis Quinn, pastor of First Baptist Church in Lincolnton will be the guest speaker. The public is invited. Bishop James Ware is pastor.

GED/Adult classes

Family meeting

There will be a meeting at the home of Joe Louis and Gwen Hearst for the Hearst family on Aug. 25 at 6 p.m.

Family reunion

The Willingham and Barksdale family reunion will be held at the residence of Derrick and D'metric Barksdale, 4416 Thomson Hwy., Lincolnton, on Sat., Sept. 1 with a fish fry beginning at 7 p.m. The dinner will be held on Sun., Sept. 2 beginning at 3 p.m. All families and friends are invited to come and have a great time.

Reserved seating

Devil football season will be on sale at the high school office beginning Mon., Aug. 20 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

If you have purchased season tickets in the past, your seats will be held until Wed., Aug. 29 at which time they will be released to those on the waiting list. Please notify the school if you do not wish to purchase your seats. The cost is $40 for the season.

Battalion meeting

All members of Company E, 1/ 122nd Infantry (TLAT) Battalion are asked to meet at the Washington Armory located at 500 Water St., on Aug. 25 at 5 p.m.

A fund has been set up at Farmers State Bank for Tee Turner, who is battling Lou Gehrig's disease.

Revival services

First Baptist Church will have revival services Aug. 27 - 30 at 7:30 p.m. nightly with Rev. William Smith, pastor of Isarel Baptist Church in Atlanta. Rev. Dennis Quinn is pastor.

Ordination service

Ebenezer Baptist Church invites the public to the Ordination Service for Randy Andrews, Mallory Norman and Andre Woodard on Sunday, September 2, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Henderson and Popular Springs Baptist Church of Thomson, Ga. will be special guests. Rev. Fred Perriman is pastor.

Board meetings

The regular meetings of the Lincoln County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will be held on the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at the Board of Elections, The Lincoln Center, 160 May Ave., Lincolnton, GA 30817, any changes to the schedule dates or alternate dates for meetings occurring on holidays will be posted.

Wilson to speak

Minister Wilson of Water Family Christian Center in Augusta, will speak at Parks Grove on Aug. 25 at 7:30 p.m.

Minister Wilson serves as senior minister and is currently enrolled at Andersonville Theological Seminary where she's completing her bachelor's degree.

Golf tourney

John de la Howe School will hold an Open Golf Tournament Sat., Aug. 25 at Monticello Golf Course in Mc- Cormick, S.C. Cost is $70 per player. Registration is at 12 p.m. with shotgun start at 1 p.m. Pre-registration required no later than Aug. 17.

Looking for old photos

Salem Baptist Church is looking for old photographs of the church and/ or church activities. The members will be celebrating the 180th anniversary of the church on Oct. 21 with a Homecoming service and meal.

Labor Day fair

Taliaferro County's 21st Annual Arts & Crafts Labor Day Fair will be held Mon., Sept. 3 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., admission is free. The fair will be held in town, located two miles off I-20 at exit 148.

Revival services

Mt. Zion Baptist Church will have revival services Sept. 3 - 6 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Guest speaker will be Rev. Michael Gresham, pastor of Reeves Chapel Baptist Church in Washington.

Homecoming at FBC

Pageant applications

Applications for the Miss Lincoln County High School Pageant are in the high school office. The registration fee is $40 and is due by August 31. The pageant will be held Thurs., Sept. 13 in the auditorium at 7:30 p.m. This pageant is sponsored by FBLA.

TIA Helping Hand

The original Clothes Closet, located on Firetower Rd., has reopened, now as T.I.A. Community Helping Hand. All proceeds will go toward the Lincoln County Food Pantry and emergency needs of the community, 50/ 50.
