Sadie Goldman Lever

Ms. Sadie Goldman Lever of Augusta, Ga., entered into rest on August 3, 2007.

Funeral services were held at Poteet Funeral Home, South Chapel, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6. Committal services followed in the family plot at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

For many years, Sadie has enjoyed her membership in the Fraternal Order of the Eagles; in 1996 she served as Madam President for Georgia. She retired from the State of Georgia in 1997. Her family and friends felt her unconditional love and compassion without bounds. The memories of her homemade biscuits and chicken dumplings will not be forgotten. An incredible dancer, she was always the "life of the party."

She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Lever; her son, Kenneth Darrell Lever; her parents, Walter H. Goldman and Sally Mae Goldman; her brothers, Randall Goldman and Riley Allen Goldman.

Survivors include her children, John Wesley Lever and his wife, Ann, Theresa Wiggins and her husband, Richard, George Gregory Lever and his wife, Sharon, Sharlyn Virginia Redmond and her husband, Patrick; her grandchildren, Eric Lever, Matthew Lever, Nathan Lever, Gregory Lever, Shawn Rhodes, Shannon Taylor, Waunell Wiggins, Elaine Franklin, Wendy Cliett, Melissa Gresham, Tiffany Brazell, Alex Lever, Amanda Redmond, and Keith Redmond; her sisters, Clarice Bates, Clara Forrest, Mary Krull, Onida Paradise, and Gail Looney; her brothers, William Bruce Goldman, Walter B. Goldman, and Leon Goldman; and fourteen grandchildren.

For memorials, the family suggests the Alzheimer's Foundation.
