Rowland, Golden to exchange vows in ceremony Oct. 6

Mr. James (Tony) and Cherry McGill Rowland of Lincolnton are proud to announce the engagement of their son, James (Jim) A. Rowland, Jr. of Lincolnton to Amber Dawn Golden of Troy, S.C.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Elizabeth Bevil McGill and the late Eugene Hall McGill of Lincolnton and James Oliver and Daphne Wright Rowland of Lincolnton. Honorary grandparents are William Norris and Ramona (Rae) Stribling of Lincolnton. He is a graduate of Lincoln County High School and a graduate of Augusta Technical College with a degree in residential and commercial wiring. He is currently employed by J & T Service Center as the sales manager.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Roni Young Scott and Dwayne Scott of Plum Branch, S.C. and Joseph Michael and Patricia Elgin Golden of McCormick, S.C. She is the granddaughter of the late James "Bud" Young of Troy, the late Linda Davenport Edmunds of McCormick, and Gladys Harvely Hall of Marietta, S.C. and the late James Floyd Golden of Greenwood, S.C. She is a graduate of Emerald High School, a graduate of Piedmont Technical College, and a graduate of Limestone College with a degree in psychology. She is currently attending Clemson University, pursuing a Master of Arts in teaching middle grades with an emphasis in English and history.
The wedding is planned for 5:30 p.m., Saturday, October 6 at Lincolnton Baptist Church in Lincolnton. An outdoor reception will immediately follow at Rowland Farms located at 2414 Thomson Highway. All friends and family are invited to attend. No local invitations will be sent out.
