A little peace and quiet

TO THE EDITOR

I'm a long time resident of Lincoln County. I moved here in late 1975 to be near family and friends. I remember the summer afternoons being peaceful and quiet. I remember sitting in the old steel art deco yard chairs in the summer with my parents and grandparents while listening to the birds, frogs, dogs and crickets.

For the past several years I have been, in my opinion, rudely denied my enjoyment of those relaxing sounds. They have been drowned out by the very regular droning of acrobatic aircraft. There has to be a happy medium here. The people enjoying their flying need a space to "loop-the-loop" to their heart's content. At the same time, we more reserved folk need some peace and quiet in the afternoon! My simple question is this:

Am I the only resident of this county that finds these noises annoying?
