Mobile mammography

The University Mobile Mammography Unit will be at the Lincoln County Health Department on July 31 and August 21.

Screening mammograms for women age 40 and above are usually covered by private insurance and Medicare. Call the health department at 359-3154 for more information

TIA Helping Hand

The original Clothes Closet, located on Firetower Rd., has reopened, now as T.I.A. Community Helping Hand. All proceeds will go toward the Lincoln County Food Pantry and emergency needs of the community, 50/ 50.

Revival at

Morningside

Morningside Baptist Church will

have revival services beginning Sun., July 29 at 11 a.m. and will continue through Thurs., Aug. 2 with evening services beginning at 7:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Evangelist Donald Walton.

Annual revival services for Harmony Baptist Church will be held Mon., Aug. 6 - Thurs., Aug. 9, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. each night. Rev. Darnell Braintley of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Thomson, will be our guest preacher.

Looking for old photos

New Work Baptist Church Brotherhood Salem Baptist Church is looking for old photographs of the church and/ or church activities. The members will be celebrating the 180th anniversary of the church on Oct. 21 with a Homecoming service and meal.

Benefit barbecue

will have its second annual benefit barbecue sale on Aug. 18. The menu will consist of barbecue, hash and rice, slaw, baked beans, bread, tea and cake. Call 706-359-1480 for more information. The proceeds from the sale will benefit the community through Brotherhood projects.

The ladies of NWBC WOM will also be holding a bake sale the same day with all proceeds going to missions.

Gay Family to perform

Danburg Baptist Church will have a singing featuring the Dennis Gay Family on Sun., July 29 at 11 a.m. The Danburg Quartet and the congregation will also sing.

A barbecue meal will follow in the fellowship hall. Everyone is welcomed to attend.

Immunization requirements

If your child will be entering sixth grade at Lincoln County Middle School for the 2007 - 2008 school year, he/she will be required to have proof of immunity for measles, mumps, rubella, and chickenpox. No child will be allowed to enter school at LCMS until this immunization requirement for the State of Georgia has been met. You can obtain this documentation from your private physician or local health department.

Board meetings

The regular meetings of the Lincoln County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will be held on the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at the Board of Elections, The Lincoln Center, 160 May Ave., Lincolnton, GA 30817, any changes to the schedule dates or alternate dates for meetings occurring on holidays will be posted.

Fund set up

A fund has been set up at Farmers State Bank for Tee Turner, who is battling Lou Gehrig's disease.

Pool now open

The pool is now open at the Lincoln County Recreation Department. Hours are Tues. - Sat., 12 noon - 6 p.m. Cost is $2 per person.

Family reunion

The descendants of William Norman, Revolutionary War Hero, will have their bi-annual reunion during the weekend of Aug. 3 and 4. On Friday, Aug. 3 at 6 p.m., we will meet at The Lincoln Center for the "Kith N' Kin" meeting, please bring a finger food dish item to share.

On Sat., Aug. 4, we will start with the memorial service and business session at Goshen Baptist Church at 10 a.m. with guest speaker Bruce Beggs. In the afternoon we will have the cemetery tour with black powder salute to our deceased war veterans. We will then meet back at The Lincoln Center for the banquet meal and entertainment provided by Charles Gunn at 7 p.m. Dress casual for Friday night and coat and tie or western for Saturday night. Softball conditioning

Softball Conditioning for all girls, grades 9-12, planning on trying out for softball will be July 23-27. We will begin at 9:30 at the softball field at the rec. center. Conditioning is not mandatory but all girls planning on trying out needs to try to their best to be there.

Conditioning will last a couple of hours and pitchers and catchers need to plan to stay longer.

Summer revival

Pine Grove United Methodist Church will have summer revival July 29 - Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. nightly. Special guest on Sun. and Mon. will be Rev. Kirk Bozeman, pastor of Madison First UMC; Tues., and Wed., will be Rev. Geoff Grubbs, associate pastor of Loganville First UMC. There will be special singing each night.

A covered dish fellowship will be held Sun., at 6 p.m. in the fellowship building. Home-made ice-cream will be enjoyed on Wed. immediately following the service.

Legal help for seniors

Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) staff will be in Lincolnton to meet with senior citizens wanting free legal, non-criminal help on a firstcome, first-serve basis Wed., Aug. 15 from 11:15 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at The Lincoln Senior Center, 160 May Ave.

Open House will be held at Lincoln County Elementary School Aug. 6 from 5 - 7 p.m.

Revival services

Greenwood Baptist Church will have revival services Sun., July 29 - Wed., Aug. 1 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Guest speaker will be Rev. Keith Etheridge. The public is invited.

GCHS class meeting

Glascock County High School Class of 1988 will meet on July 28, 2007 at 5 p.m. at Brassell Park in Gibson, Ga. to discuss plans for the 20th year activity. All graduates are encouraged to attend. Family reunion

The annual reunion of the Freeland- Crawford family descendants of James Manning Corey Freeland and Caroling Augusta Butler Freeland, will be held Aug. 12, 12:15 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, Plum Branch, S.C. Please bring a picnic lunch and tea.

Prayer Walk

The Lincoln County Ministerial Association invites the Christian community to take part in this year's Annual Prayer Walk for our schools, teachers, staff, students and administration to be held Thurs., Aug. 9, 7 p.m. at Lincoln County Elementary, Middle and High Schools.

Sixth grade orientation

Lincoln County Middle School will host a special orientation for rising sixth graders and their parents on Tues., July 31 at 7 p.m. in the school's cafeteria.

Fifth Sun. singing

A fifth Sunday night singing will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 3235 Thomson Hwy., July 29 at 6 p.m. The Rays will be the special guests. They are a gospel bluegrass music family from Royston, Ga. Please call 706-359-1202 for more information.
