John M. Price,III

Mr. John Marshall Price III, 78, of McCormick Highway, entered into rest on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Select Specialty Hospital, Augusta, Ga.

Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, at Double Branches Baptist Church cemetery with the Revs. Deryl Odom and T.G. Hall officiating.

Mr. Price was born in Columbia County to the late John Marshall and Elsie Blanchard Price. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as a maintenance engineer; was a member of Woodmen of the World, Masonic Lodge #276 of Harlem, and a member of Double Branches Baptist Church. He enjoyed bluegrass, farming and his North Carolina mountains.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mrs. Julia Crook Price; one daughter, Elsie Elizabeth Terrell and husband, Walter of Augusta; three sons, John Edward Price and wife, Judy of Gainesville, John M. Price, IV and wife, Renee of Augusta, and David A. Price and wife, Anne of Lincolnton; one sister, June McKinney and husband, Hardy of Athens, Ga.; seven grandchildren, John E. Price, Jr., Jay Price, Judianna Price, David A. Price, Jr., Latricia Price, Robby Terrell and Krystal T. Stewart; and one great-grandson, James Stewart.

Mr. Price was preceded in death by a son, Julian Lynn Price; a brother, Robert Price; and a sister, Frocie Roundtree.
