Thomas C. McFerrin Thomas C McFerrin, 77, of Gloucester, Va. entered into rest on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at Riverside Walter Reid Hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11 at Salem United Methodist Church in Gloucester, Virginia with Rev. Rita Staul officiating. Interment followed in Windsor Garden Cemetery in Dutton, Virginia. Mr. McFerrin was a native of Lincoln County and was the son of the late M.N. McFerrin and Sallie Mae Myers McFerrin. He was retired from Haywood Baker Co. as a crane operator, a Navy veteran, a member of the Operators Engineers Union Local #673, the Masonic Lodge #69 in Orlando, Fla., and a member of the Pampa Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by his children, Janet, Diane and Tony and one sister, Vivian M. Wright. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Thomas leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 57 years, Cleo Bryant McFerrin; three sons and daughtersin law, Wayne and Debbie McFerrin of Orlando, Kenneth and Mary McFerrin of Astatula, Fla. and Weems and Jeanne McFerrin of Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter, Brenda Carter of Orlando; ten grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren; five brothers, Billy McFerrin of Landrum, S.C., Allen McFerrin of Gloucester, Tracy McFerrin of Gloucester, Gary McFerrin of Hartfield, Va., and Donnie McFerrin of Spotsylvania, Va.; and two sisters, Helen Rebecca "Becky" McClain of McCormick, S.C. and Shirley M. Crossland of Tallahassee, Fla. Pallbearers were the brothers and son, Kenneth. Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 11408 Salem Church Road, Gloucester, Va. 23061. |
