Hortense Evans Woodard

Mrs. Hortense Evans Woodard, 94, of Lincolnton, entered into rest on Monday, April 2, 2007 in McDuffie Medical Center in Thomson, Ga.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4 at Southerland Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Woodard, a native of Dodge County, was the daughter of the late Eli Evans and Louisa Smith Evans and was a retired Reeves Brothers Textile employee and a member of Chester Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Fletcher Woodard, Sr.

Survivors include one son, William F. Woodard, Jr. (Lynda) of Lincolnton; one sister, Grace Ratledge of Snellville; one brother, Eli Evans, Jr. of Hinesville; two grandchildren, Sheila Martinez (Mike) and Mark Woodard (Betsy); three great-grandchildren, Aaron Fisher, Brittini Woodard and Justin Kaznowski; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Frankie Loyd, Larry Faircloth, Lee Smith, Larry Smith, Everett Blue and Gerald Moore.

Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
