Fishing Creek to host tournament to benefit library

Fishing Creek Bait & Tackle and the Fishing Creek Camping & RV Park will host the first-ever "Fishing Creek Crappie Fish-Off" on Saturday, April 21.

Proceeds will benefit the Lincoln County Library.

Competition begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 7 p.m., with prizes awarded to the three largest crappies. The first-place purse is $100; $50 will be awarded to the second and thirdplace crappies.

Registration for the tournament is $5 per person.

The rules are as follows:

.. One entry per person.

.. All fish must be caught in Clark's Hill Lake.

.. Ties will be settled by a flip of the coin.

.. The consumption of alcoholic beverages will not be allowed during the weigh-in or the raffle, which is set to begin at 8 p.m.

Concerning the raffle, tickets are $5 each. The prizes include a fishing vest, tackle boxes, a Bass Pro Shop chair, binoculars, jewelry boxes, wind chimes, and one-year subscriptions to The Lincoln Journal.

Tournament registration, the weighin, and the raffle will take place at Fishing Creek Bait & Tackle on Highway 79.
