Hill honored on two occasions at Augusta State

AMANDA CATHERINE HILL
Amanda Catherine Hill, a senior Early Childhood Education major at Augusta State University, was honored Friday, March 16, 2007 on two different occasions.

At an impressive ceremony at the Student Center, she was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest, largest and most selective all-discipline honor society where she received a medallion that is to be worn at the Honors Convocation, graduation and at other academic convocations. She was recognized as being a HOPE scholar and for making the dean's list each semester in college. Immediately following the induction ceremony, a dinner was served to all inductees and their chosen family and friends.

Later in the evening, the Honors Convocation was held at the Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre, where selected faculty and students were recognized. Amanda received a plaque for having the highest academic average in the College of Education.

She was accompanied to these events by her parents, Mark and Faith Hill, and Brad Sandifer.
