Joel Ray Myers, Sr. Mr. Joel Ray Myers, Sr., 68, of Ralph Goolsby Road, entered into rest on Monday, March 19, 2007 at Heartland Hospice in Augusta. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, at New Hope Church Cemetery with Bishop Cullen Hicks officiating. Mr. Myers was the son of the late Jack Myers and the late Mary Reese Myers. He was retired as a plumbing and electrical assistant, was a member of the Son's of the American Legion and attended Martin's Crossroad Congregational Holiness Church. Survivors include his wife Joanne Bailey Myers; three sons, Joel "Joe" Myers, Jr. and Eddie Myers both of Lincolnton, and Clay Myers of Portsmouth, Virginia; one daughter, Linda M. Bentley of Lincolnton; two stepchildren, Catherine Freeland of Washington, Ga. and John Sinn of Aiken, S. C.; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Barney Bentley, Joseph Myers, Jim Reese, Eddie Reville, Charles Shelton and Clifton Williams. Rees Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
