Richard M. Garrard

Mr. Richard M. "Ricky" Garrard, 57, of Swainsboro, entered into rest on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, at Lincolnton United Methodist Church with Revs. John M. "Dusty" Rhodes and Dave Hinson officiating. Interment followed in the Lincolnton City Cemetery.

Mr. Garrard was the son of the late Reuben and Grace Garrard. He had lived most of his life in Lincoln County before moving into the Royal Oaks Retirement Home in Adrian, Ga.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara G. Lyons.

Survivors include a niece, Michele Lyons Roberts of Swainsboro; brother-in-law, Robert P. "Bob" Lyons of Adrian; and several cousins.

Pallbearers were Dwaine Biggerstaff, Charles Estes, George Leverett, III, Billy Norman, Marcy Remsen and Charles Ware.

Rees Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
