Rebecca Benton Willis to wed Thomas Cunningham

REBECCA BENTON WILLIS AND THOMAS K. CUNNINGHAM
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Weems Willis are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Benton Willis, to Thomas Keith Cunningham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Paul Cunningham, Jr., all of Lincolnton.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ruth Walker Poland of Lincolnton and the late John Mitchell Poland, Jr. and Hazel Kirkland of Lincolnton and the late Aaron Drinkard Willis and the late James Thomas Kirkland. She is a graduate of Lincoln County High School and received a Bachelor of Journalism in Public Relations (magna cum laude) from the University of Georgia. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and served on the Panhellenic Council. She also holds a Master's degree in Foundations of Education from Troy State University and will receive a Specialist's degree in Middle Grades Education from Augusta State University in May. She is employed as an eighth-grade teacher at Lincoln County Middle School.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Thomas Paul Cunningham, Sr., and the late Opal Cunningham Reed, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ozzie Adell Dawkins. He is a graduate of Lincoln County High School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a minor in finance, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Georgia Southern University. He is employed as a nurse practitioner by Robert J. Williams M.D.

The wedding is planned for 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at New Hope Baptist Church in Lincolnton with a reception to follow at Savannah Rapids Pavilion in Evans, Georgia. All friends and family are invited to attend. There will be no invitations sent locally.
