Corps to give away tree seedling to lake property owners

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at J. Strom Thurmond Lake will be giving away tree seedlings to property owners living adjacent to the lake through Feb. 18. Seedlings can be picked up at the following locations on the dates indicated:

.. Now through Feb. 18, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., visitors center at the Thurmond Dam located at 510 Clarks Hill Highway, Clarks Hill, S.C.

.. Thurs., Feb. 8, 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at Savannah Lakes Village Store on Hwy. 378, McCormick, S.C.

The reforestation program is designed to provide a second-generation forest. Included in the available mix are several types of flowering trees, hardwoods and pine. All trees must be planted on public property.
