Tired of the bickering
TO THE EDITOR

I was grieved in my spirit when I read the Lincoln Journal last week.

More persecution for Sheriff Lawson. It seems it will never end.

It looks as if the commissioners are the ones with the power struggle or this would never be. They want power and control over everyone. All this bickering is only costing the taxpayers more money.

Sheriff Lawson was backed up by the deputy general counsel for the Georgia Sheriff's Association.

As long as Sheriff Lawson does his job, he shouldn't have to answer to the commissioners for every detail.

If $16,000 is peanuts, why the ar- gument? I've never been rich and I've never been poor but I don't call $16,000 peanuts.

We say we live in a free country. The country may be free but the commissioners are putting the people of Lincoln County in bondage. When a person can't do as they please on their own property and when the sheriff can't have some say so on what he is entitled to.

It seems to me the commissioners are trying to strip the sheriff of all his dignity, but what goes around comes around.

Vengeance is mine, says the Lord, I will repay. Deut. 32:35
