Reviere assumes duties as chairman of SACS CASI

PAUL REVIERE
Paul Reviere, a third-grade teacher at LCES, was elected to serve as the chair of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools' Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) at the SACS CASI Annual Conference held recently in Atlanta.

As the chairman, he will be responsible for presiding over all meetings of SACS CASI and its board of directors. He will also represent SACS CASI and its board of directors on the SACS Board of Trustees.

Reviere, who has over 30 years of experience in the classroom, has been involved with SACS for more than 25 years, holding leadership positions at both the state and regional levels.

In addition to his work with SACS, Reviere is currently the system and building representative for the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE). He has likewise served on various committees for the Georgia Department of Education.

Founded in 1985, SACS is a voluntary, non-governmental agency comprised of more than 13,000 accredited colleges and universities, elementary schools, middle schools, and secondary schools. Headquartered in Decatur, Georgia, the agency serves 11 Southern states from Virginia to Texas as well as Mexico, countries in Central and South America, the islands of the Caribbean, and other geographic areas.

Accreditation is a process of helping institutions improve through ongoing self-assessment against quality standards, rigorous on-site evaluation by peers, and a continuous commitment to providing quality education programs that are aimed at improving student performance.
