GBI and LPD investigating armed robbery

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and the Lincolnton Police Department are investigating an armed robbery which took place Tuesday, January 16, at approximately 11 p.m. at Farmers State Bank.

According to Jim Justice, chief of the Lincolnton Police Department, "An unknown black man approached the night manager from Hardee's as she was making the night deposit at Farmers State Bank. The robber pointed a gun at the victim, took the deposit, and fled on foot."

The night manager was not harmed, said the chief.
