Lena Reese Cliatt Mrs. Lena Reese Cliatt, 86, wife of the late John Thomas Cliatt, Sr., formerly of Double Branches Road, entered into rest on Friday, January 12, 2007 at South Hampton Nursing Home, Huntsville, Ala. Funeral service were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 15, at Double Branches Baptist Church with Revs. Ficklen Guin, Keith Etheridge and Terry Joyner officiating. Burial followed in New Hope Church Cemetery. Mrs. Cliatt lived in Lincoln County for most of her life, before moving to Huntsville in 2006. She was a homemaker and a member of Double Branches Baptist Church. In the absence of a formal education, she had an exceptional desire for learning and was renown for her wisdom. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Blackmon of Orangeburg, S.C. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Mueller of Huntsville, Ala. and Virginia Davis of Leesville, S.C.; three sons, Tommy Cliatt of Snellville, Ga., Jim Cliatt of St. Cloud, Fla. and Mike Cliatt of Augusta, Ga.; nine grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers were Scott Cliatt, Ranger Cliatt, Larry Goolsby, Dr. Chip Mueller, Pete Olson and Dr. Robert Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Brad Cliatt, David Cliatt, Roy Guillebeau, William Guillebeau, Robert Herring, Harold Holloway, Walter Holloway and Stanton Tankersley. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to Double Branches Baptist Church Memorial Fund, c/o Mr. Barney Aycock, III, P.O. Box 602, Lincolnton, Ga. 30817. Rees Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
