Mr. Thomas Eugene Swift of Tradewinds Drive, Appling, Ga., entered into rest September 25, 2007.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 27 at Greenwood Baptist Church Cemetery, Lincolnton, Ga., with Rev. Seaborn Dell officiating.

Mr. Swift was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a native of Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Navy, and retired after 31 years with McKesson Wholesale Pharmaceutical Company. Upon retirement, he then went to work with the U.S. Postal Service until health conditions forced him to quit. He was a member of Harlem United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mildred Swift; three brothers, Paul LaVerne Swift, William Ellis Swift, and Richard Lawrence Swift; and sister, Mildred Ann Swift Bullock.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Carol McGee Swift; two sons, Thomas Stanley Swift and Robert Steven Swift; one granddaughter, Korey Swift; one grandson, Tyler Swift; and a brother, Rodney Swift of Harlem, Ga.

Pallbearers were Floyd Simons, Douglas Hardaway, Henry Matthews, Kenneth Lowder, Larry Odgen, Kyle Smiley, and Wayne Connell.
