City Council adopts budget; EPD bans outdoor watering

The Lincolnton City Council adopted a proposed FY 2008 General Account and Street Account Budget of $754,200 at its regular meeting held Monday, October 1. Although the figure reflects a sevenpercent increase ($52,100) over last year's budget of $702,100, the millage rate will remain at 5.6 mills as a result of growth in the tax digest. More...

Kids to be shot at clubhouse for special edition

In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, area children will once again be featured in "Christmas Kids and Greetings," an annual supplement to The Lincoln Journal. This year, a photographer from Interpress Studios in Snellville, Georgia, will be at the Lincolnton Clubhouse Tuesday, October 23, through Thursday, October 25, to take the children's pictures. Flat Stanley on patrol

Brodi Williams of Boulder Creek, California, who is the grandson of Greg and Kelly Goddard (pictured), recently mailed "Flat Stanley" (also pictured) to Lincolnton to scout out what life is like in Georgia. In a few weeks, the Goddards will mail Flat Stanley back to their grandson, along with plenty of pictures and information about Lincolnton.
