With great joy and excitement we issue you this invitation !

Anthony Chapel will be having homecoming on third Sunday, August 19th….. we will begin gathering at 10:30 with the service to begin at 11:00. It has been quite some time, 1965, since we last met to share in "worship and fellowship" with "dinner on the ground". Anthony Chapel will furnish the main dish.

For all those with a special love for Anthony Chapel, we invite you to come and share your rememberances with us. For many years, Anthony Chapel has stood as the center of the surrounding communities with many connections to the congregations of the area churches. We hope as many of you as possible will come celebrate with us and renew old acquaintances while making new memories. Rev. Susannah Davis, pastor of Kirkwood United Church of Christ will bring the message.

Rev. Susannah Davis is a native of Warrenton. she is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. E. Purnell Davis. Susannah graduated from Briarwood Academy in 1988, and then pursued her undergraduate studies at Emory and Henry College in Emory Virginia. Upon graduation, she moved to Atlanta to attend Candler School of Theology at Emory University where she received her master of divinity (mdiv)

Susannah spent much of her youth and young adult life working and serving churches and camps throughout North Georgia. She was ordained an elder in the United Mehodist Church in 1997 and has served several churches in rural and suburban North Georgia. Susannah served for six years as the senior minister at St. Paul UMC, a downtown church in Atlanta. last year, she bought an existing coffee shop in the Kirkwood community of Atlanta with hopes of relating the gospel story and reaching out to people with God's love in a "new way". the coffee shop , "gathering grounds", celebrates its one year anniversary this July and is becoming more and more successful each day. Since January, Susannah has been holding monthly services in the coffee shop inviting all people to participate and worship together. The church that it is now becoming is called Kirkwood United Church of Christ. The congregation meets weekly for bible study and prayers and meets monthly for service projects and worship.

Susannah serves on the board of the Atlanta L'Arcge Community, non profit that seeks to serve those with severe mental disabilities and continues to teach as an adjunct professor at the Candler School of Theology.

Looking forward to seeing "everyone" Sunday!!!!!!!!!!
