A Lincolnton Police Department patrol car was totaled in an accident that occurred about 5 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at the intersection of Peachtree Street and the Augusta Highway. According to a report issued by the Georgia State Patrol, Officer Mike Greeson was turning left onto the Augusta Highway from Peachtree Street when Michael Gregory Teston, 50, of Appling ran a red light in his Chevrolet pickup truck and struck the patrol car. Officer Greeson was transported by Lincoln County EMS to McDuffie Regional Hospital where he was treated and released. No other injuries were reported.
