Russell Maddox Callaway, son of Dennis and Paula Callaway of Lincolnton, celebrated his fifth birthday on May 26 with a party at Amity Recreation Area. His birthday was May 28.

Russell was honored with a Lightning McQueen party. His guests enjoyed hamburgers and hotdogs with all the trimmings, chips and baked beans.

After an afternoon of swimming, everyone gathered to sing Happy Birthday to Russell and then enjoyed his Lightning McQueen cake. Each child was given a goody bag as they left.

Russell would like to thank all of his family and friends for celebrating his birthday with him and for all the wonderful gifts he received.
