CCLC to meet

The Concerned Citizens of Lincoln County will meet Thurs., June 21, 6:30 p.m. at the Lincoln County Library. Guest speaker will be Lincoln County Tax Commissioner, Brenda Danner. Everyone is welcome to come and be a part of the CCLC.

Mobile mammography

The University Mobile Mammography Unit will be at the Lincoln County Health Department on July 31 and August 21.

Screening mammograms for women age 40 and above are usually covered by private insurance and Medicare. Call the health department at 359-3154 for more information

GED/Adult classes

VBS at Morningside

Morningside Baptist Church will host Vacation Bible School Mon., June 25 - Fri., June 29 from 7 - 9 p.m. for children kindergarten through sixth grade.

Fireworks June 29

Elbert County Chamber of Commerce and Richard B. Russell State Park will present the 12th Annual Fireworks Show on Fri., June 29 at Richard B. Russell State Park. Cost is

6 per vehicle entrance fee. Beach music with WSGC 92.1 will be from

- 9 p.m. with fireworks over Lake Russell beginning at 9:20.

Concessions will be available. No alcoholic beverages allowed.

Church anniversary

Parks Grove FBH Church will celebrate its 96th church anniversary on Sun., July 15 at 3 p.m. with Pastor Anthony Brown of Gainesville, Ga. as the guest speaker. Everyone is invited. Rev. Tonita Cody is pastor.

Anniversary observance

Sons and Daughters of Bethlehem Society anniversary observance will be held at Newberry Missionary Baptist Church on Thurs., June 28 at 6 p.m. with Mrs. April White, first lady of Newberry Missionary Baptist Church, as the guest speaker. Rev. Willie J. White is pastor.

Summer dance

Thomas-Lane American Legion Post 597 will host a summer dance on Sat., June 23 beginning at 9 p.m.

Celebrate the beginning of summer by joining us for a fun-filled evening. Proper dress and a valid ID are required. No one under twenty-five will be admitted. However, persons who are currently serving in the military (must show proof) will be admitted. Harvey Elam, Commander.

Plate sale Sat.

Thomas-Lane American Legion Post 597, located on Thomas-Lane Rd., will have a plate sale on Sat., June 23 beginning at 12 noon. The plates will consist of barbecue meat/ hash and all the trimmings. You may dine in or take out.

Pleasant Grove CME Church will have a Little Miss and Little Mrs. Pageant on Saturday, June 23 at 5 p.m.
