Two arrested on drug charges by sheriff and GBI

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) arrested two Lincoln County men on drug charges Friday, May 11.

Morris Kennedy, Jr., 19, and Zaron Shanks, 24, were arrested during the execution of a search warrant at 3025 White Rock Road. The subjects were taken into custody after officers confiscated a significant quantity of powder cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, and Ecstasy from the residence.

Kennedy and Shanks were each charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and possession with intent to distribute Ecstasy. Both men are currently being held in the Lincoln County Law Enforcement Center on a $125,000 bond.

"I'm extremely pleased with the cooperation we've received from the GBI in assisting with narcotics investigations," stated Sheriff Gerald Lawson. "We are continuing our efforts to rid our county of the drugs that are stealing our youth."
