High winds blew the steeple off of St. Luke Baptist Church on Metasville Road just prior to the second worship service on Sunday, April 15. "We thought it was thunder - it happened so fast," stated Marvene Zellars, a member of the church. Fortunately, no one was hurt by the falling steeple.
