LWREA to meet The Lincoln-Wilkes Retired Educators Association (LWREA) will meet at 11 a.m. on Thurs., April 12 at Pizza Hut, 1008 E. Robert Toombs in Washington. All retired educators are invited to attend. Frances F. Zellars is president.
Mobile mammography
The University Mobile Mammography Unit will be at the Lincoln County Health Department on April 17 and May 29.
Screening mammograms for women age 40 and above are usually covered by private insurance and Medicare. Call the health department at 359-3154 for more information
Candlelight program
The Women's Mission of Ebenezer Baptist Church will hold a candlelight worship program on Sun., April 15 at 2 p.m. Special music will be provided by the Perriman Singers. Rev. Fred Perriman is pastor.

Sunday singing
St. Paul United Methodist Church will have a fifth Sunday night singing on Sun., April 29 at 7 p.m. with Kenneth and Martha Norris of Thomson, Ga. Everyone is invited.
Ivey fund set up
A fund has been established at Farmers State Bank to aid Taffy Ivey who was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Donations may be made at the bank, the night deposit or by mailing to: Taffy Ivey Fund, P.O. Box 99, Lincolnton, GA 30817.
Board meetings
The regular meetings of the Lincoln County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will be held on the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at the Board of Elections, The Lincoln Center, 160 May Ave., Lincolnton, GA 30817, any changes to the schedule dates or alternate dates for meetings occurring on holidays will be posted.
Homecoming services
Lincolnton United Methodist Church will be celebrating homecoming on Sun., April 22 at 10:30 a.m. A barbecue covered dish lunch will follow. Revival services will continue through Wednesday night, April 25.
Benefit barbecue
A benefit barbecue chicken plate sale will be held for the Travis Ivey family to help with medical expenses due to Taffy's illness over the past two years.
Plates will cost $6 each and may be picked up at the City Fire Department on April 7 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

ACS offers RtoR prog.
The American Cancer Society now offers its Road to Recovery program to cancer patients in Lincoln County who need transportation to and from their treatments, free of charge. Drivers are trained society volunteers who pick up patients at their homes, take them to their treatment and drive them back home.
