Kristina Marie Bell weds Kevin Dale Cato March 30
Marie Bell of North Au- gusta, South Carolina and Kevin Dale Cato of Johnston, South Carolina were married in an evening ceremony March 30, 2007, on the front lawn of Oakley Park Plantation in Edgefield, South Carolina. Reverend Davis Barton officiated.
The bride is a daughter of Kenneth L. Sr. and Juanita B. Bell of Aiken, South Carolina. She is a granddaughter of Wendell and Helen Byars of Aiken, and Gaines and Sybil Bell of McCormick, South Carolina.
The bridegroom is a son of Derial Cato and the late Yvonne Connelly of Trenton, South Carolina. He is a grandson of Joyce Timmerman and the late Bob Timmerman of Easley, South Carolina, and Freda Cato and the late James "Jake" Cato of Trenton.
Tequila Bell Spears of West Columbia, South Carolina, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. She wore a tea length light blue dress. Her bouquet was made up of white calla lilies, white alstroemeria and ruscus.
Franklin Davis of Johnston, friend of the groom, served as the best man. Franklin wore a dark grey suit with black tie and a white carnation boutonniére.
Ring bearers were Chandler Jason Bell of North Augusta, son of the bride, and Bailey Maxwell Cato of Johnston, son of the groom. They wore black suits with black tie and single white spray rose boutonnieres. Kenneth L. Bell, Jr. of Aiken, brother of the bride, and Rodney Cato of Trenton, brother of the groom, served as ushers.
The groom wore a black suit with light blue vest and tie. He wore a white calla lily boutonniére.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father, Kenneth, and her son, Chandler. She wore a strapless white satin dress adorned with lace and a waist length veil. The bride carried a bouquet of white alstroemeria, light blue delphinium, white calla lilies and white carnations.
The reception was held at Oakley Park Plantation. Family and friends of the couple enjoyed an assortment of items some of which included chilled shrimp, quiche, and chocolate covered strawberries. The wedding cake was a beautiful three-tiered cake adorned with calla lilies.
The bride is a graduate of South Aiken High School. She attended the University of South Carolina Aiken. She is currently pursuing a nursing degree and is employed by St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Strom Thurmond High School. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina Aiken with a degree in nursing. He is the owner of Cato Development.
The bride and groom met while in nursing school. The couple, who are both huge Carolina football fans, were engaged at the Georgia/South Carolina football game on Sept. 9, 2006.
Following a wedding trip to the Western Caribbean, the couple will reside in Johnston, South Carolina.
