LCMS baseball team defeats Thomson Middle School Mon.

The Lincoln County Middle School baseball team defeated Thomson Middle School 21 - 10 Monday, March 19, at the Curry Colvin Recreation Field. The win improved the young Devils record to 2-2 this season with a big double-header Saturday at 11 a.m. here against W-W.

In the game Monday against Thomson, Tyler Banks was the winning pitcher for the Devils and Steven Morris came in for the game.

Top hitters were Steven Morris with a three run homerun over the left field fence; Rusty Scott and Frank Sherman each had big days scoring three runs each; and CJ Goldman and Mason Saggus both scored two runs.

The Devils went to Washington- Wilkes on Saturday, March 10 and were defeated by the Tigers 14 - 6 as Jarrett Gage of W-W had two hits and scored three runs. In the second game, Tyler Banks pitched a three hit game as the Devils won 5- 4 against the Tigers.

Coach Matthews is the head coach, Billy Kirby and Addison Belangia are assistants. Special thanks to Tonya Burt, Denise McWhorter and Ann Scott for the new jerseys and concession.
