Mrs. Mildred Hammond, 83, wife of the late George A. Hammond of Lincolnton, entered into rest on Monday, March 12, 2007 at Westwood Nursing Center in Evans, Ga.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 15 at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Paul Reviere officiating.

Mrs. Hammond, the youngest of thirteen children born to the late Jesse and Luna Myers Wells, was a native of Lincoln County and had lived in the Tampa area for thirty years before returning to Lincolnton in 1977. She was retired from the Hillsborough County School System as a lunchroom worker and she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Hammond of Lincolnton and George A. Hammond of Scottsville, Va.; one daughter, Wanda Faye Kratzer of Odessa, Fla.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and four step-greatgrandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ryan Keegan, Brandon Keegan, Roy Wells, Jr., Raymond Swan, Larry Padgett and Matt Ivey.

Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton, was in charge of the arrangements.
