George L. Walker

Mr. George Lawrence Walker, 85, of Madison, Ga., entered into rest on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, Florida.

Funeral service were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 16 at Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Callaway and Dr. Perry Crowell officiating. Interment followed with military rites in the church cemetery.

Mr. Walker was a retired biologist with the State Game and Fish Commission and was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country during World War II. He was a member of Hiram Masonic Lodge # 51, American Legion Post # 194 and Beulah Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Judy Walker Harris and husband,

Steve of Conyers, Ga.; three sons, Larry Walker and wife, Janine of Tallahassee, Fla., Charles Christmas of Tallahassee, Fla. and John Walker of Augusta, Ga.; five sisters, Evelyn W. Logan of Graniteville, S.C., Ruth W. Poland of Lincolnton, Ga., Priscilla W. Styles of Conyers, Ga., Shirley W. Ashmore of Belton, S.C. and Imelda Walker of Lewiston N.Y.; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and his pet and faithful companion, Annie.

Pallbearers were members of Hiram Masonic Lodge # 51.
