Robert Wesley Burgess

Mr. Robert Wesley Burgess, 66 of Bethany Church Road, entered into rest on Sunday, December 10, 2006 at his residence.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12 at Fishing Creek Baptist Church with Revs. Roy Cates and Ficklen Guin officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Burgess, son of the late Leslie and Lillie Martin Burgess, was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County and a contractor and painter.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Turner Burgess; one son, David Burgess of Lincolnton; two daughters, Michelle Burgess of Suwanee, Ga. and Lisa B. Safrit and husband, Chad, of Washington, Ga.; one brother, Edwin Burgess of Lincolnton; two sisters, Rosa Lee Ashmore and Gail Burgess, both of Lincolnton; and six grandchildren.

Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton, was in charge of arrangements.
