Edwards wins top award at SRMUN conference
Chris Edwards, a senior government major at Berry College in Rome, Ga., along with other students who make up the Berry College Model United Nations team, collected multiple awards for its performance at the Southern Regional Model United Nations Conference in Atlanta November. A total of more than 600 students took part in this year’s event.
Berry’s two delegations represented the People’s Republic of China and Yemen. Students representing China won one of three Outstanding Delegation Awards, the highest possible honor available at the conference. In addition, both Berry delegations were recognized with Position Paper Awards for their pre-conference preparation.
Berry College is an independent, coeducational college of approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students that is ranked among the best colleges of its type in the Southeast. Located on a 28,000 acre campus near Rome, Georgia, the college provides an integrated education that unites a challenging academic program with opportunities for spiritual and moral growth, work experience and significant service to others.
Chris is the son of James and Donna Edwards of Lincolnton.
