Relay for Life to hold kick off party Jan. 15

2006-12-21 / News

Relay For Life, the American Cancer Society’s national signature activity, is on the move again in Lincoln County.

A party to acquaint the community with the overnight May event has been scheduled for Jan. 15, 2007 at the Lincoln Center beginning at 6 p.m.

This year’s Relay For Life of Lincoln County will be held May 11-12, 2007 at Curry Colvin Recreation Complex. At last year’s event, more than 100 people participated and raised nearly $34,000. This year we are dedicating the Re-

lay to the memory of Mildred Dean Brown, a driving force in the successes of Relay in 2006. Keep in mind that “Cancer Never Sleeps” and neither do we. We’ll have food, fun and more as we get the Relay For Life Kicked Off for 2007. The purpose of the Relay is to seek funds to help fight cancer and to bring about greater awareness of the disease.

Those wishing to attend the kickoff party should call the American Cancer Society’s Augusta office at 706-731-9900. Visit our website at www.acsevents.org/lincolncounty.
