Judge Dunaway presides over waived jury trials
Waived jury trials were held Monday, December 11, at the Lincoln County Courthouse with Chief Superior Court Judge Roger W. Dunaway presiding.
During the proceedings:
Bruce Allison Inglett pleaded guilty to one count of VGCSA [(Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act), possession of methamphetamine] and was sentenced to eight years (one year in confinement with the balance on probation), a $2,500 fine plus surcharges, 100 hours community service, and the drug package.
Dennis Lee Turner pleaded guilty to VGCSA (possession of cocaine) and theft by taking. He was sentenced 10 years (five years in confinement with the balance on probation), a $1,000 fine plus surcharges, 100 hours community service, and the drug package on the first charge.
On the theft charge, the defendant received 10 years probation to run concurrent with sentencing on the drug charge and a $500 fine plus surcharges. He was further ordered to make restitution in the amount of $2,500.
In a separate case, Turner pleaded guilty to simple battery and received 12 months confinement to run concurrent with all other sentences.
Mallory Marion Arnett pleaded guilty to discharging a firearm on the property of another and received 12 months (time served with the balance on probation).
Angela Lockhart pleaded guilty to battery and was sentenced to 12 months probation and a $350 fine plus surcharges. She was also ordered to complete a certified family violence intervention program.
Matthew Belangia pleaded guilty to giving items to an inmate without the consent of the warden and mak- ing false statements. He received five years probation, a $500 fine plus surcharges, and 30 hours community service on each charge. The sentences will run concurrent with each other.
Belangia was likewise granted first offender status by the court.
Ronder White pleaded guilty to battery and misdemeanor obstruction of an officer and was sentenced to 12 months probation, a $500 fine plus surcharges, and 30 hours community service on the first charge. He was further ordered to complete a certified family violence intervention program and undergo anger management counseling.
On the obstruction charge, White received 12 months probation to run consecutive to sentencing on the battery charge, a $500 fine plus surcharges, and 30 hours community service.
Percy Bernard Hines pleaded guilty to criminal trespass (misdemeanor) and received 12 months probation, a $500 fine plus surcharges, and 30 hours community service. He was also ordered to make restitution to Lincoln County in an amount to be determined by the probation department.
Tyler Rodney Bryant pleaded guilty to felony obstruction of an officer and was sentenced to five years (three years in confinement with the balance on probation). He was further ordered to obtain his GED as a condition of probation.
Arch Wright, Jr. pleaded guilty to VGCSA (possession of cocaine) and received time served plus four years probation, a $1,000 fine plus surcharges, 100 hours community service, and the drug package.
He was granted first offender status by the court.
Deshanerio Onasis Wright pleaded guilt to VGCSA (possession of cocaine with intent to distribute) and was sentenced to time served and four years probation, a $1,000 fine plus surcharges, 100 hours community service, and the drug package.
The defendant was granted first offender status.
