TSGT Edward R. Benson
      TSGT Edward R. Benson, U.S. Air Force Retired, 70, husband of Margaret Walls Benson of Hinton St., entered into rest on Sunday, December 3, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 5 at First Assembly of God with Revs. Lanis Lewis and Terry Bonds officiating. Interment followed in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens in Thomson, Ga. with full military honors.

James Colbert
      Mr. James Colbert, 58, of Lincolnton, entered into rest on Sunday, December 3, 2006 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at Clarks Hill Lake. Mr. Colbert was born in Habersham County, Georgia on December 20, 1947. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a truck driver who worked in timber most of his life.

      Mr. Martin L. Flowers, 77, beloved husband of fifty-five years to Mrs. Charlene Pope Flowers, entered into rest Monday, November 27, 2006 at his home. At his request Mr. Martin was cremated and a memorial service was held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, S.C., with Pastor Elsie Odom officiating.

      Dorothy "Dot" Kinney Hunt, 74, beloved wife of William "Billy" Erby Hunt, Jr., of Thomson, Ga., entered into rest on November 28, 2006 at her residence. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 30 at First Baptist Church in Thomson with Dr. James Ramsey officiating. Interment followed in Westview Cemetery.

      Mr. Alvin McClinton Lester, 86, of Troy, S.C., entered into rest on November 30, 2006 at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood, S.C. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 2 at Troy Cemetery with Rev. Doug White officiating. Mr. Lester was a carpenter and a member of Troy A.R.P.
