Amberly Aycock, bride-elect of Phil Roberts, was guest of honor at a Trim the Tree for the Bride-to-be shower Saturday morning, November 18 at the home of Carol Bailey given by Mrs. Bailey, Monica Hardy, Donna Hardy, Meredith Atwood, Barbara Henderson, Elaine Bailey and Shawn Hackney of Washington and Debra Potts of Oglethorpe, County.

For the occasion Miss Aycock chose a red sweater and black and white mini-houndstooth check pants. She was presented a holiday corsage with mums adorned with miniature presents.

The dining room was festively decorated in a holiday motif. The dining table was covered in white Battenburg lace accented with a spar-

kling runner. Gold, red and silver Christmas ornaments, greenery and strands of delicate gold and silver beads were used as accents. Centering the table was a glass globe filled with swirls of red ribbon and holiday ornaments. From the table guests enjoyed fresh fruits, cheese straws, muffins, banana nut bread, sliced blueberry loaf, bacon-wrapped rolled dates and nuts, and crescent Danish squares.

A Battenburg lace runner topped another table decorated with a miniature tree entwined with red ribbon and topped with a red bow from which guests were served hot wassail, coffee and juice.

The sideboard, overlaid in a Battenburg lace topper, featured many matching holiday touches in addition to a miniature sleigh filled with pine and holly. Red ribbon, greenery and ornaments adorned the mantel and the hutch held greenery with colorful holiday ornaments.

The hostesses presented the brideelect a Christmas platter, a Christmas cake stand and holiday spreaders.

Thirty-five guests were invited. Special guests included the brideelect's mother, Velda Aycock and aunt, Laura Spratlin, both of Lincolnton; the prospective bridegroom's mother, Barbara Roberts of Washington and sister, Katie Bailey of Anderson, S.C.; and bridal attendants, Lindsey Drinkard and Catherine Cox of Augusta.
