Hundreds of hours of preparation go into making the holiday season one to remember. Baking, cooking, decorating, and of course, gift buying. This year, consider adding one more person to the list. Buy a gift for a less fortunate child in your community, donate it to Toys for Toddlers, and make the holidays just a little brighter for a less fortunate child.

Toys for Toddlers is a gift-sharing program sponsored by Bumper to Bumper, R & W Auto Parts. Located on Ward Avenue, R & W Auto Parts will be the official drop-off site for new, unwrapped toy donations. Donations will be accepted through December 15. Family Connection will pick up the toys.

"So often we forget there are families who are not able to provide toys for their children during the holiday season. Compared to food, clothing and shelter, buying toys is low on the priority list when money is tight," said Hillyer Wright, co-owner of R & W Auto Parts. "We want to help those parents and caregivers provide a special gift to their children. It gives the child hope for the future, and lets them know that their neighbors care."

Toy donations can be for any age child, but the toy must be new and unwrapped. "We are working with the Family Connection and their volunteers will be sorting and organizing the toys to distribute," said Wright. Family Connection is best qualified to identify the disadvantaged children in the community and plays a key role in toy distribution.
