J. Thomas "Tommy" Drinkard, 58, of Washington Street, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 11 at Lincolnton United Methodist Church with Revs. Dave Hinson and John Rhodes officiating. Interment followed in Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Drinkard, son of the late John P. and Rebecca Fleming Drinkard, was a native of Wilkes County but had lived in Lincolnton most of his life. He was former editor of The Lincoln Journal, a former employee of Drinkard Litho in Greenwood, S.C. and currently owned Classic Printing. He was a member of Lincolnton United Methodist Church and the Sons of the America Legion Squadron 194.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie Mae Dawkins Drinkard; one son, James T. "Jim" Drinkard of Augusta, Ga.; two daughters, Lindsay Drinkard and Elizabeth Drinkard, both of Lincolnton; one brother, "Johnny" Drinkard, III of LaGrange, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Taylor and Emily Drinkard.

Pallbearers were Floyd Marlow, Bob Norman, Larry Campbell, Bob Drinkard, Robert Williams and Bob Guillebeau. Honorary pallbearers were Sons of the American Legion Squadron 194 and members of the Class of 1966.

Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
