Mother of the Year nominees wanted
Lincoln County Family Connection is currently seeking nominations for the "2006 Mother of the Year."
Former Mothers of the Year include Tammy Goldman, Michelle Dandron, and Mary T. Dill.
The contest is held annually to recognize mothers who have touched the lives not only of their children but others in the community as well.
The guidelines for those submitting nominees for Mother of the Year are as follows:
The nominee must be a full-time resident of Lincoln County.
The entries must include the name, address, and telephone number of both the author and the nominee.
The entries must explain why the candidate should be selected as Mother of the Year.
The contest is open to the public with no age restrictions.
Entries will be judged strictly on content, originality, and sincerity. Creativity is encouraged There is no word limit. All entries should be submitted voluntarily.
The Family Connection staff, the agency's board of directors, and their spouses are ineligible to win. However, they may participate in the nomination process.
Family Connection will govern the final selection of the winner.
Previous Mothers of the Year are ineligible to win.
Prizes and awards will be determined annually by Family Connection.
Entries may be delivered or mailed to the Family Connection office, located in Linco Place at 115 Main Street. The agency's mailing address is P.O. Box 729, Lincolnton, Georgia, 30817.
The deadline for the contest is Monday, October 9, at 5 p.m.
As Mother of the Year, the winner will be an honored guest on the Family Connection float in the Lincolnton Holiday Parade set for Saturday, December 2.
