Chief Justice issues report on departmental activities
An activity report was recently released by the Lincolnton Police Department.
According to Chief Jim Justice, the following arrests were made in the city:
Roy Lee Moneypenny III, 49, of Lincolnton, charged with public drunkenness.
Jessie Lee Huff, 46 of Lincolnton, charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer and DUI.
Zoron Shank, 24, of Thomson, charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a drug-related object, giving a false name, and running a stop sign.
Matina Fortson, 20, of Lincolnton, charged with disorderly conduct.
Jefferie Jones, 37, of Lincolnton, charged with public drunkenness.
Robert Wendell Jones, 29, of Augusta, charged with public drunkenness.
Shane Austin, 21, of Lincolnton, charged with disorderly conduct.
Michael Lockhart, 37, of Lincolnton, charged with simple battery under the Family Violence Act. In other items of information, Chief Justice indicated that the following incidents occurred in the city:
Joyce Harris, an employee of Golden Pantry, reported that a black male in a white pickup truck drove off without paying for $20 worth of gas.
Fannie Taylor reported that her cell phone was stolen from her residence on the Watson-Street Extension. The phone was valued at $91.
While on patrol, Officer Bill Turner noticed that a side window at the Milky Way Freeze Bar had been knocked out. Apparently, the perpetrator(s) did not gain entry into the building.
Rev. Stanley Adams of Lincolnton Baptist Church reported that an unknown person(s) gained entry into the building and removed a Toshiba data projector valued at $277.
Thomas Sims reported that an unknown person(s) removed the tag from his 1999 Dodge Ram van.
Rhonda Levy reported that her cell phone was stolen from her residence on Joan Way. The item was valued at $50. Dawn Freeman, an employee of
Golden Pantry, reported that a white male in a gray pickup truck drove off without paying for $48 worth of gasoline.
In separate incident, Freeman reported that a black male in a gray, older model Ford Crown Victoria drove off without paying for $15 worth of gasoline.
Ryan Andrews reported that an unknown person(s) stole his book bag while he was picking up his payroll check at Papa's Pizza.
Teresa Tankersley, an employee of Farmers & Merchants Bank, reported that the bank received a check for $4,400 which was apparently part of a scam perpetrated on a local individual.
Joan Crook reported that an unknown person(s) stole her handbag from her vehicle while it was parked in front of the Dollar General Store. The purse contained her checkbook and $450 in cash.
Chief Justice pointed out that all of the incidents listed above are currently under investigation. He went on to ask anyone having any information about these crimes to call the police department at 706-359-4121.
